KCLS OPAC Development Project Plan

Posted on February 14th, 2010 by Jed Moffitt and tagged , , , , .

We've had questions recently about our development plans for Evergreen OPAC.  We're attaching our project plan for OPAC development and implementation here in this post.  This document shows a high level schedule and milestones for this project.  Can you say "tight timeframe"?

Hats off to the KCLS Web Services Department including Lisa Hill, Melissa Falgout, and Josh Ring, who are orchestrating this complex project.

We are working with two developers on the OPAC project:  Equinox Software is modifying the functional OPAC code to meet KCLS OPAC development specifications.  The vendor FGI (who is also working with Bibliomation on Kids Catalog design) is working with KCLS to develop the OPAC user-interface and outer-layer functionality.

Let us know if you would like to get a more in depth look at the KCLS Evergreen OPAC development specifications or project implementation plan.  We will post when we have some progress with the OPAC that can be demonstrated online.

Yes, we are interested in a more in depth look at the KCLS Evergreen OPAC development specs and the implementation plan.    We're currently working with Equinox and doing some functional testing on the current 1.6 version, and we're trying to understand what functional gaps that we've identified may already be addressed.
