Grant Partners

Updated 4/28/2010

The original grant partners for this project are King County Library System (lead library) and Peninsula Library System (CA), Ann Arbor District Library (MI), and Orange County Library System (FL). These four libraries were named in the original IMLS grant and have helped establish RSCEL.

A total of 3 more grant partners can be named over the course of the grant period (November 2009 - October 2012). Each grant partner has certain responsibilities to IMLS (info forthcoming) and are expected to participate actively on the RSCEL website and attend RSCEL meetings at conferences. In addition, grant partners may apply for grant funds to offset costs associated with technical support and/or staffing required related to their Evergreen implementation (up to the equivalent of .25 FTE for one year). Grant partners may also be eligible for other technical assistance provided through grant activities.  How some grant funds will be distributed to grant partners is still being finalized.

Libraries that would like to apply to be grant partners must agree to the financial and reporting requirements established by the IMLS and must be multi-outlet public library systems circulating at least one million items annually.

At least once per year, grant partners will meet to select the next round of grant partners. Selection will be made based on reviews of applicant submissions. Desirable candidates will demonstrate their support for the RSCEL mission and values statements as defined on the RSCEL website and will commit to becoming an active consumer and contributor of RSCEL resources.

In April 2010, Bibliomation (a consortium in Connecticut) was added as the 5th grant partner.  There is still room for three more libraries to be named as grant partners between now and the end of the grant period.

If you are interested in applying to become a grant partner, please submit an essay in support of your library by sending an email to team@rscel.org.

Each year's round of accepted applications will be announced at the Evergreen Annual Conference. One or two grant partners will be accepted each year.
